The Role
As a DevOps Systems Administrator – Linux, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and evolving Global Relay’s on-premise infrastructure. You’ll focus on Linux system reliability, automation, performance, and security while working closely with development and application support teams to reduce operational overhead and scale enterprise-grade systems.
This role is ideal for a Linux professional who enjoys automation, deep troubleshooting, and building resilient infrastructure in high-availability environments.
What You’ll Do

Deploy, update, monitor, and maintain Linux systems across multiple on-premise environments

Automate OS updates, configuration management, and infrastructure workflows

Collaborate with development teams to reduce manual effort (TOIL) in application deployments

Support high-throughput, high-availability infrastructure with significant storage requirements

Document operational procedures and maintain runbooks with application support teams

Participate in an on-call rotation, providing second-level troubleshooting support

Continuously improve system performance, stability, and scalability

Champion an “automate everything” mindset
What You Bring
-
3+ years of hands-on experience as a Linux Systems Administrator (bare metal, VM, orchestration)

Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar)

Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible)

Proven ability to troubleshoot complex systems across multiple layers

Solid networking troubleshooting experience

Experience working in Agile environments

Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical issues

Self-motivated, proactive, and highly organized
Nice to Have

Kubernetes and containerization (Docker, Podman)

CI/CD pipelines and Jenkins (Groovy-based pipelines)

Monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, Zabbix)

SQL/database administration experience
